On board the two ships sailing between Copenhagen and Oslo - Nordic Pearl and Nordic Crown - a new children’s universe has been created. The concept turns the journey itself into an experience for families with children aged 3–12. The Sailor’s Club combines play, learning, and maritime atmosphere in a concept that unfolds across the ships’ newly refurbished playrooms.
Children receive their own sailor’s logbook, where they collect badges by completing activities and challenges. Along the way, they learn about seafaring, geography, history, and wildlife – progressing from landlubber to sailor.
The playrooms have been designed to evoke a distinct maritime setting with space for both active play and creative activities. Elements such as climbing nets, knot stations, and interactive installations support The Sailor’s Club universe and provide children with an experience that extends beyond the voyage itself.
The purpose is clear: when children are happy and engaged, parents can relax and enjoy the crossing. At the same time, The Sailor’s Club strengthens Go Nordic Cruiselines position as an attractive travel choice for families – turning the route between Denmark and Norway into a memorable part of the holiday.

“The collaboration with Torden & Lynild on Matrosklubben ombord has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish. They entered the project with a curiosity and energy that inspired the entire team – and it quickly became clear that they not only understood our vision but were also able to elevate it to new heights.
What I especially appreciate about Torden & Lynild is their ability to combine playfulness and aesthetics with a deep understanding of storytelling and atmosphere. They manage to create spaces that speak both to the senses and to the imagination – places where children and adults alike are eager to explore together.
The entire process has been characterized by trust, good spirits, and a creative drive that made the collaboration both efficient and truly inspiring. Torden & Lynild are bold in their ideas yet always attentive and respectful of the project’s framework and goals.
I can only give them my warmest recommendation – it has been a fantastic experience building Matrosklubben together with them.”
