Aalborg as a historic destination
Vision for fundraising
2021

This prospectus was developed for “Nordjyske Museer” to be used for fundraising.

Torden & Lynild facilitated the process from beginning to end including development of the core stories, producing the visuals, editing texts and managing the final setup. The exhibition concept was developed together with a renovation plan for the building by Arkitema and COWI. Alongside this, BARC Scandinavia developed the visitor and business strategy for the museum as a whole. All three advisors cooperated on creating a holistic concept for imparting knowledge about the historic city center of Aalborg, and using the museum as a portal to the entire visit to the city. Torden & Lynild was the main manager for the project, working with the coordination of the deliveries from Arkitema/COWI and BARC Scandinavia.

The future Historical Museum of Aalborg is to be is a folksy and inclusive museum, which - by using modern means of communication methods – presents the story of “The Three Faces of Aalborg” with exhibitions about “The Sensual Aalborg” (1000 – 1850), “The Pulsating Aalborg” (1850 – 1974) and “The New Aalborg” (1974 – now). Furthermore, the vision sharpens the museum’s profiling as a dynamic, modern and open museum focusing on citizen involvement and co-creation.

This prospectus was developed after being ordered by “Nordjyske Museer” to be used for fundraising.

Alongside this, BARC Scandinavia developed a project for the visitor and business development for the museum. All three advisors cooperated on creating a concept for imparting knowledge about the historic city center of Aalborg, using the museum as a portal to the whole experience. Torden & Lynild acted as project managers for the project, for example working with the coordination of the deliveries from Arkitema/COWI and BARC Scandinavia.

The vision for the future of The Historical Museum of Aalborg is a folksy and inclusive museum, which - by using modern means of communication methods – presents the story of “The Three Faces of Aalborg” with exhibitions about “The Sensual Aalborg” (1000 – 1850), “The Pulsating Aalborg” (1850 – 1974) and “The New Aalborg” (1974 – now).
