At the heart of Lyngby's big, bright children's library stands a book tree with room for play, reading and experiencing books. Visitors can crawl into the reading cave in the middle of the tree, where the patterns within can be seen. You can also peek in through the portholes and see the small illustrated stories, make fun words in the word machine or find a good book to borrow home from one of the branches. The round leaves, which match the library’s round lamps, are replaced in between, so that the tree suits the season. The tableaux on the screens can also be changed by the librarians. A tree full of life for a library full of life.

We had the tree parts laser-cut from cardboard and assembled the tree as a model before it was fully drawn in order to fine-tune the proportions
