Stories of Stiklestad - one battle, one place, a thousand voices
The Museums of Arven
Vision for fundraising
2024

This prospectus was commissioned by Museene Arven, located north of Trondheim, Norway. The museum is currently working on upgrading the information center in Stiklestad. The purpose of this brochure is to support the museum’s vision and fundraising efforts.

For nearly a thousand years, Stiklestad has held a unique position in Norway as a historic battle site and symbolic location. This prominence is due to the Battle of Stiklestad, which took place on July 29, 1030. The battle is one of the most significant events in Norwegian history. In connection with the 1000th anniversary in 2030, the information center and the surrounding area will be extensively upgraded.

Torden & Lynild won the competition to develop a vision for the new main exhibition. The project is a collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of consultants, including architects and landscape architects (Agraff Arkitektur and Haugen Zohar Arkitekter) as well as experience designers (Sopra Steria).

A key principle in the development of the new exhibition is co-creation. This approach ensures that the exhibition will be dynamic and multi-voiced. Groups and individuals are invited to share their stories, provide input on content, influence the development process, and utilize parts of the exhibition space.
